The Children & Youth Ministries at the Johnstown Location of New Day Include:

The After-School Program & Youth Ministry

The After-School Program (ASP) at New Day is designed to foster cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual growth. We come alongside families' values in order to encourage positive character development and academic achievement while creating meaningful, Biblical learning experiences.

The After-School Program operates out of New Day's main building located at 109 South Street in the Kernville area of Johnstown. The After-School Program serves children in first grade through sixth. During their time at New Day, students are served supper, experience an interactive Bible lesson, receive homework help, and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities offered throughout the year.

Summer Ministry Program

Summer Program changes a little every year, but it always provides a great time for the children! The main part of the program offers "day camp" activities that the children attend throughout the week, as well as special outings to enjoy. Outings can include: trips to Idlewild, swimming at the Que, Urban Air fun day, Shawnee, day hikes, ice cream, and more! We also have a relationship with "Summer's Best Two Weeks" and send youth to their Citikidz camp each summer.

Sports Ministry Program

Our vision in the Sports Ministry at New Day is to build Champions for Christ through Sports.  We believe that sports is a great way to connect with youth and helps in character development in many ways, it is truly a lifeline to some young people in our community.

HELP FOR THE FamilY

The Family Ministry Programs are available through New Day as support to families in need. With a variety of programs available to every family member, New Day creates a caring environment that fosters emotional, social, and spiritual growth, as well as an atmosphere conducive to healing and reconciliation. New Day strives to saturate the family with God's love, and in turn, has the opportunity to speak into families' lives.

By self-referral or from another agency or among New Day, families can participate in multiple programs, which maximize the provided level of support. For example, families may simultaneously participate in Parenting Classes, Counseling, After-School Program, Family Nights, and Youth Basketball.
