the Windber Food Pantry. So, another Windber organization benefits from
this concert.

7 pm... Benefit Concert for
New Day, Inc.

New Day is in the process of
restoring 709 Kennedy Avenue,
a single home which was scheduled to be torn down. The purpose for this home
will be to house several male Youth Workers who will work for CitiKidz (a part
of Summers Best Two Weeks Camp) for several months in the summer, and will
serve as staff at the Johnstown New Day office for the remainder of the year.
We had many volunteers this
past summer. They helped to clean, tear up old carpet, paint the inside of the
house, repair windows, and spent many hours working on the electrical, heating
and plumbing problems. Many individuals and churches donated household items. We
have a group coming soon to replace the roof.
Not all of the supplies or
professional services were donated and we are trying to raise funds for this
project.
This
concert will feature many of the talented staff of New Day and friends and an
offering will be collected to benefit this project.
